I have, for some time tried to get Linux to work with my laptop - an old slab of a thing - Toshiba Tecra 8000 (PII 400)
It's been... interesting. Finally, after many, many, many distros, I've found one that'll both install, and find it's way to providing a GUI. (DSL doesn't count)

Just click on the map to go to an earthquake. Who knew there were so many?
